GREYTOWN CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE is situated in the small town of Greytown in KwaZulu-Natal. The centre is registered as a child and youth care centre to accommodate disadvantaged children between the ages of 3 and 18 years, irrespective of race, gender or religion. Greytown Child and Youth care Centre has the capacity to cater for 160 children, however our numbers throughout the months vary between 145 and 160 children who are all legally removed from their homes and placed in our care. The main reasons for their removal are neglect, abuse including sexual abuse or severe poverty.
The centre follows a holistic care programme where our children are accomodated in 7 seperate houses, in a homely atmosphere. They are clothed, receive three nutritious meals daily, attend school, participate in sports and receive the necessary spiritual, social, psychological, health/medical care.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child can flourish emotionally, physically, and academically. We strive to break the cycle of poverty and empower children to become confident, compassionate individuals who contribute positively to society.
Our vision is to empower disadvantaged children, fostering self-belief, purpose, and positive self-esteem. We aim to cultivate resilient individuals who excel academically, uphold moral values, respect others, and embrace the importance of hard work and honesty for future success.
